The assembly of a C60/27 ceiling profile starts with the choice between a single or double grid. A double grid is often the default. In fact, these profiles require less suspension points than a single grid. As a result, assembly is faster. Our metal stud ceiling system consists of two types of profiles:C ceiling profiles C60/27 and U ceiling profiles U27. The steps below will help you with the assembly. This advice takes into account a gypsum board 9.5 mm thick with rounded edges.
1. First, attach the U-profiles to the surrounding walls. This allows for increased sound insulation of your ceiling system.Attachments to the wall should be spaced 600 mm center to center. It is possible to shorten the profiles with tin snips.
2.Next, the main battening of the C-ceiling profiles is installed. These are positioned on the U-profiles. The center to center distance depends on the overall structure and any additional loads. The main battening should be installed in a staggered pattern to the overhead structure using grid hooks or other appropriate fittings. The first suspension points of the ceiling profiles are positioned at a maximum distance of 400 mm from the wall.
3.Below the main battening, the sheet-bearing C ceiling profiles are installed. These are slid into the U-profiles.The spacing of the C-profiles is 300 or 400 mm in most cases.Next, the profiles are attached to the main battening, using metal stud cross connectors. These are also applied every 300 or 400 mm. A cross connector should be installed wherever the C sections cross. In need of additional length? This is easily achieved with a metal stud connector. This is always installed in a staggered pattern.
4.Once the steel frame of metal stud profiles is installed, it is possible to screw on the gypsum boards and finish the suspended ceiling.
